Thank you for joining us for lunch today. The boys and girls were thrilled to eat with you. Some were a little sad to see you go but not to worry, only a few hours to go until they see you again 🙂
Month: August 2019
Outdoor Learning
This afternoon we took Maths outdoors. We have been exploring number and today practised formation using chalk 🙌🏻 So far we have looked at the numbers 1,2,3,4 and 5, matching objects with quantities and demonstrating our number recognition through the game SPLAT!
Gym time !
There’s no better way to start the week than to get moving! We are very lucky to have our P.E time just before playtime on a Monday morning- it sets us up for a great day of learning. Today, Mrs McCarron was teaching us all about moving safely around the games hall. We had to run along the lines, avoiding our peers (and the big crocodiles ah!). It was great fun. She was also testing our listening and giving us lots of different instructions as we moved around the room. Mrs Stephenson was especially impressed with how quickly we stopped when Mrs McCarron blew her whistle ! We were great! Riley & Lochlan were fantastic at demonstrating side steps to the class – well done !
Session 2019/2020
Welcome to p1.4’s blog. My name is Mrs Stephenson and I will be p1.4’s class teacher on Mondays, Tuesdays and alternate Wednesdays. Mrs O’Donnell will be class teacher on alternate Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. If you ever need to speak to either of us, please contact the school office, write a note in your child’s homework diary or catch us at drop off/pick up 🙂
Through this blog, you will be able to keep up to date with everything we are doing in school. Primary 1 is such a fantastic year of learning and we hope to capture as much as possible for you.
Our first few days have been busy. We are learning new routines and familiarising ourselves with our classroom and school. We have also started our Jolly Phonics program today and learned the sound ‘s’. Please ask us to show you the action when we learn a new sound- it’s great to help us remember! Homework will begin next week to enable you to support your child at home.
Thank you,
Mrs Stephenson
