We have been learning about racism and black history. We have learned that Britain was racist and many rich people had plantations which grew with tobacco, sugar and cotton. African people were stolen away from their homes and forced to the West Indies where they made to be slaves.
We also learned about when slavery was abolished in Scotland and abroad. We put the dates in order in a timeline.
5.18 had a great time exploring numbers for Maths Week. We took part in a Mental Maths Orienteering Challenge and learned how to say simple calculations in French! We also made 3d shapes out of nets and competed in a National Sumdog Competition.
We have been playing Kho Kho. It is a game where there is half of the players split into teams. There are runners and chasers. People from India normally play this game.
How to Play
Runners can run any where in the circle and the chasers can only run on one side and the other chasers sit on the line and if the other chasers are facing the right the chasers tap them on the back and then they go to the right side to catch the runners.
