Through the RE curriculum and the school retreat program, our young people cover the following topics:
- Made in the image of God- including S1 Retreat and Welcome Mass
- Prayer and life’s journey
- The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass- including class Mass
- October Devotions-The Holy Rosary
- The Sacraments of Initiation- Baptism and Confirmation (Holy Communion is covered in the topic on the Mass)
- Holy Souls Insert- Including November Service
- Advent- Liturgy, Devotions. Family Learning Task. ‘Bearing Gifts’ retreat.
- Christmas and Epiphany- The significance of the incarnation and Epiphany. Devotions, Liturgy and Traditions.
- The Holy Bible- Through the Gospel of Mark- context of St Marks writing. The History of the Scriptures, literary styles in the Bible and praying with the Bible- Lectio Divina. Visit from the Gideons.
- Judaism- The beliefs and practices of Judaism and how they relate to Catholicism- The relationship between the old and new covenants.
- The life of Jesus through the Gospel of Mark
- Ash Wednesday and Lent inserts- Stations of the Cross and Triduum Retreat
- The Resurrection- Learning and prayer based on the events surrounding the resurrection.
- Mary the Mother of God- the role of Our Lady in the life of Jesus, the life of the Church and the life of the Christian.
- Called to Love- God’s plan for human relationships.

Young people develop their skills for life, learning and work through their experience of the RE curriculum as well as experiencing opportunities for personal and spiritual growth and formation. Pupils are expected to put their faith learning into practice by participating in the liturgical and charitable life of the school.
