DYW/ SLLW

In RE, pupils are developing a wide range of skills and values that contribute significantly to their formation as thinkers and problem solvers who can approach a range of situations methodically and with care for others. The literacy skills developed in RE enable young people to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to reflect on their view and those others. RE also enables pupils to see the relevance of their faith in practice and helps to form reflective and principled individuals who allow their love of Christ to inform every thought, word and deed, no matter where life takes them. Our strong focus on vocation enables young people to view their academic study within the context of serving God and neighbor.

The RE department offers pupils across S2 and 3 the opportunity to achieve the SQA Religion, Belief and Values Award at level 4 and at level 6 alongside the Caritas Award in S6. These qualifications provide accreditation that demonstrates that young people have studied their own faith, the worldviews of others and have contributed to the common good.
