Supported Study

In line with the Turnbull school policy, the English department happily offers senior pupils blocks of supported study at key points in the year: in the lead up to prelims, before the Easter holidays and targeted sessions immediately prior to the exams.

Pupils should sign up to attend English supported study for the appropriate level, National 5 or Higher, and on their preferred day. It should be noted that up-take for English supported study is often high and places can not always be guaranteed. Furthermore, all English staff take part in offering supported throughout the year, so it may not be your own class teacher who is leading the sessions for the current block. In light of this, sessions tend to focus on generic English skills and exam preparation, such as RUAE.

If any pupil requires specific support with an element of coursework or class work they should speak to their teacher directly. We are always happy to offer further support and guidance to those pupils who request it.
