Week beginning 6th March 2023

This week the children have been exploring the new, bigger garden. The 2 year old garden has now joined with the 3 to 5 roomโ€™s garden which makes a much bigger space to explore with many more toys and lots of new friends to play with. The children coped very well with this new environment.

 

Week beginning 20th Feb

This week we have been exploring lots of various resources to balance on such as the wood and pipes to make our own obstacle course while playing outdoors.

We have been very busy planting seeds in our garden and looking at what is going to be growing. We will watch over the next few weeksthese grow and take care of them watering daily.

Indoors this week we have been enjoying using the raised walking boards to balance and jump from developing our gross motor skills while taking part in physical play indoors.

 

Willow room 13-17th February 2023

This week in the willow room we have been little book worms, exploring a variety of books and stories. We are developing an understanding of how to look after them and tidy them away when we are finished looking through them! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿชฑ

We have also been practicing hanging up our jackets on our pegs, it is a little challenging but with lots of practice Iโ€™m sure we will nail it! ๐Ÿงฅ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
ย As we have had a good couple of dry days this week, we have been able to go outdoors and explore in the garden especially in the sand and on the bikes! โ›…๏ธโ˜๏ธ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ ๐Ÿชฃ ๐Ÿ

We have also been very creative this week. We have explored with paints, making marks and images on to cling film!
we are also developing our fine motor skills through drawings, creating our own pictures for our gallery in the playroom! ย ๐Ÿง‘๐Ÿปโ€๐ŸŽจ ๐ŸŽจ โœ๏ธ ๐Ÿ–

ย We have been taking part in action songs and rhymes.

Exploring outside, taking part in role play scenarios, taking risks on apparatus and enjoying physical play.

ย We have been exploring with real vegetables, pots and wooden knives, developing out fine motor skills to cut and prepare food.

We enjoyed stories at group time, developing our listening and concentration skills.


We also used small tools to spoon and fill trays with dry porridge, developing fine motor skills and co-operative skills with our peers.

Willow room 16th-20th January 2023

We have been developing our independence and self help skills in certain areas, washing our hands before snack and meal times and using our cutlery at lunch and dinner time.๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿด๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿฅ›๐Ÿฒ


we have also been exploring our environment both indoors and out, building, creating, investigating and problem solving in a variety of learning situations. ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿฆบ๐ŸŽจโ„๏ธ๐ŸŒจ

This week we have been finishing our Christmas crafts. We have been making Christmas cards for our loved ones by printing with festive stampers and paint.

 

The children have also been celebrating at their Christmas party. They had a wee dance, ate a special snack, played Musical Bumps and even had some visitors. We were very lucky to have Santa and the Grinch visit us. Santa let the children ring his magic bell, while the Grinch was being very cheeky! ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿผ

5/12/22 to 16/12/22

The last couple of weeks ย we enjoyed lots of Christmas and winter activities โ€ฆ.

we have all been taking turns to open the advent calendar and have a special treat

Week beginning 14th November

This week we have been celebrating Nursery Rhyme Week. We have continued our learning about Night and Day by exploring Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star along with singing many others. Some children are beginning to sing the end of the lines of some songs which is demonstrating their ability to recall familiar information.

Week beginning 7/11/22

ย This week we have been enjoying physical outdoor play in the garden


we have been developing our independence skillโ€™s practising putting on our own shoes and wellies

We had lots of fun following a dance video to head shoulders knees and toes

While learning all about light and dark with the weather getting darker, we all worked together to make a stary night painting on the window, lots of children were able to name and identify the stars moon and sky.
