World Mental Health Day

πŸ˜†πŸ€¨πŸ˜ƒFINDING MY SELFIE CHALLENGE πŸ˜’πŸ˜¬πŸ«£

We as adults have had many, many years to learn how to process our emotions and find the words to express how we are feeling.

Whereas children are just beginning to understand that they have big feelings!

β€˜Finding My Selfie’ is a lovely way to help your little one to recognise different facial expressions, make connections between what they’re feeling and what that might look like, and find the words for those feelings.

All you have to do is, with your little one, make funny, emotional faces and take a selfie.

Then, swipe through the selfies, naming each expression or emotion captured.

Some emotions and feelings that you might like to try: tired, excited, angry, shy, scared, happy, grumpy, curious, worried, calm, sad.

Sometimes, when your little one can’t find the words, using the β€˜emotional selfies’ as a prompt can help them show how they might be feeling

Infection Control

Just a little reminder as the winter weather is now approaching there is an increase in virus/bugs going around

If your child has any sickness and/or diarrhoea that they should NOT attend the centre.

Any children displaying symptoms within the centre will be sent home.

Can we please ask that your child does not return until 48 hours after the LAST dose. This is recommended via the NHS to prevent spread of infection to other children and the staff

In addition if you child is unwell with any virus/illness we would advise they stay at home until they are well enough to return to the Centre

Thank you for your cooperation

Halloween Costume Shop

We are looking to organise our costume swap again this year, if anyone is having a clear out of costumes and would like to donate them please hand them in to the Centre by Friday 13th October

The costumes will be made available at the foyer area from Monday 23rd October πŸŽƒπŸŽƒπŸ‘»πŸ‘»

Important Information

Could we please ask that no snacksΒ  are brought into the ECC in the children’s bags as we have an increasing amount of allergies across the Centre

If you are concerned about your child’s eating please speak to a member of staff and arrangements can be made

No sweets etc should be brought into the ECC as other children may be able to access these from a child’s bag

We have also noted an increase on juice being brought in, unless your child requires a separate drink for medical/sensory reasons they will be provided with water throughout the day/milk to drink at snack time

If for any other reason you need to provide a snack for your child for after nursery please inform a member of staff so this can be removed from their bag until home time

In addition a gentle reminder that children are not required to bring a bag to the ECC, we have drawstring bags available for children to keep changes of clothes etc in

Thank you for your cooperation with this in keeping all the children safe
