Why is creativity important ? -16/02/21
Creativity skills are important for children as these skills allow them to:
- problem solve for solutions for every day problems as well as traditional academic ones
- be confident in their own ideas, opinions and thoughts
- work with other children or adults in a team
- cope with changes in their lives

📖 The Care Inspectorate’s Our Creative Journey compliments the previous document by demonstrating creativity in action through a wide range of educational and community groups.

What is Creativity?
There are lots and lots of ways to be creative! This includes (but is not limited to):
- painting – drawing – collage – singing – rapping – modelling materials – dancing – junk modelling – writing stories – drama – writing poetry – photography – building – dressing up – design – fashion – sewing – knitting – baking – cooking

October Halloween Fun 🎃
We recreated the image from Edvard Munch’s Scream. We discussed how we think the person in the painting felt and how we felt about the painting, the children then had lots of fun recreating the artists image.

In November we explored with the paint on the windows to recreate ‘A Starry Night’ ✨ this was a new experience for the children using the windows, we all had lots of messy fun! Below are some photos from our two year old room with Sarah.
