We have 4 playrooms at Whatriggs Early Childhood Centre
All 4 playrooms have direct access to the large outdoor space.
Each playroom offers a wide range of planned and child-led play and learning opportunities. To see the variety of play and learning experiences on offer please visit your child’s playroom tab (see below).
The children have opportunities for Free-flow play and structured play opportunities and routines within the day. To find out more about the benefits of children’s play, please see our “play” tab.
Playroom 1 – Willow
This is the playroom for 2-3 year old children.
The children in this playroom attend the centre during one of the following session:
- Morning – 8am – 12:45pm
- Afternoon – 1:15pm – 6pm
- 9am – 3pm
Some of our 2-3 year olds attend shorter sessions which consist of either:
- Shorter morning – 9am – 12:15pm
- Shorter afternoon – 1:15pm – 4:30pm
Playroom 2 – Chestnut
This is one of the playroom for 3-5 year old children.
The children in this playroom attend during the 9:05am – 3:05pm session.
Playroom 3 – Birch
This is another playroom for 3-5 year old children.
The children in this playroom attend during the 9:05am – 3:05pm session.
Playroom 4 – Oak
This is last playroom for 3-5 year old children.
The children in this playroom attend either of the following:
- Morning session – 8am – 12:45pm
- Afternoon session – 1:15pm – 6pm
- 3 full days (8am – 6pm)
- 2 full days and 1 half day (half day session is either a morning session – 8am – 12:45pm, or an afternoon session – 1:15pm – 6pm)
