Rhyme Of The Month
Nursery Rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development. They help children develop auditory skills such as discriminating between sounds and developing the ear for the music of words.

The ECC was full of nursery cheer this week!
We put up our Christmas tree, Explored decorations, made Christmas crafts, investigated sensory snow and went a winter walk through the estate and even spotted some squirrels! 🐿 🎄 ❄️ 🚶♀️
This week we have been talking about light and dark which led us on to exploring shadows, we watched a short story on the promethean board about how to make a shadow and then used the light box to make shapes with our hands, following on from that the children decided to make a puppet theatre which we used to experiment with different objects to see what cast the best shadows. Some children drew round shadow shapes and others made shadows of themselves on the wall and floor. Alfie told us “you need a light” and Peach discovered when you move the light it changes the size and shape “my shadow is now big”.
