February Top Tip

IMITATE

Make a sound and see if you’re child will copy you, start to take turns. This is a good skill for communication.

Rhyme Of The Month

Nursery Rhymes are important for language acquisition and help with speech development. They help children develop auditory skills such as discriminating between sounds and developing the ear for the music of words.

Pat a cake pat a cake bakers man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can

Wellbeing Wednesday

Wellbeing Wednesday ❤️

We have some exciting news….

Throught the month of December staff are creating a reverse advent calendar, each day an item of food will be donated and put into a hamper

There will be 4 separate hampers made up and on the last week of term a child’s name from each room will be chosen at random to take the hamper home

Please note this is not a raffle just something we are doing to spread a little kindness 🥰

Exploring shadows

This week we have been talking about light and dark which led us on to exploring shadows, we watched a short story on the promethean board about how to make a shadow and then used the light box to make shapes with our hands, following on from that the children decided to make a puppet theatre which we used to experiment with different objects to see what cast the best shadows. Some children drew round shadow shapes and others made shadows of themselves on the wall and floor. Alfie told us “you need a light” and Peach discovered when you move the light it changes the size and shape “my shadow is now big”.
