Scottish Government Announcement

Dear Pupils and Parents/Carers,

It has been announced that a small number of Senior Phase (S4-S6) pupils may be able to attend school in order to complete practical SQA/SCQF tasks as of Monday 22nd February. This position will be confirmed in two weeks’ time. The announcement referenced a notional capacity by day of between 5% and 8% (approximately 35 – 56 of our pupils at any one time).

School staff will now require time to consider any associated guidance and devise a system whereby all those in S4-S6 completing practical tasks can access school.

For all pupils in S1-S3, home learning will continue for now, with a roadmap for full return set to be released later in the month. For pupils in S4-S6 not scheduled to be in school on a given day, home learning will also continue.

I appreciate your patience over the next few weeks while we devise an internal system. Please be assured of the fact that we will keep you up to date.

Reference was also made to the planned expansion of home testing for COVID-19. This testing may be offered to school staff and pupils. Again, once we are in receipt of the fine detail we will send it on to you.

Kind Regards

Mr Kane
