You will be aware that SQA Exams begin on Monday 22nd April 2024. Please find some important information for parents & carers below.
SQA Exam Timetable
You can find the SQA Exam timetable here. All exams take place in the Games Hall or Small Gym. If your child receives Additional Assessment Arrangements (AAA), they will receive a personalised timetable from Mrs Hoy. Please ensure your child collects this before Study Leave begins. Please note that candidates with AAA may have different start/ end times and/ or locations for exams.

We strongly recommend downloading two apps from SQA which will help create a personal exam timetable and a study timetable. Details are below, these apps are free on android or apple platforms. You can also create a personal exam timetable on the MySQA site here.
Staff have delivered lessons during PSE about conduct and expectations during SQA examinations. You can access the booklet pupils were provided with here.
Attendance at Exams
Pupils must attend all SQA exams and should arrive in school at least ten minutes before the exam start time. There are no resits for SQA Exams.
If a candidate is seriously ill or experiences another emergency situation on exam day and cannot attend, please contact the school office on 01563526144 or email angela.quigley@eastayrshire.org.uk
A very small number of exams finish after school closure time and therefore school transport will not be available. Pupils should make their own arrangements to travel home if affected.
Pupils must wear full school uniform when attending exams.
Study Leave
S4-6 pupils with exams will be on Study Leave from Monday 22 April.
We encourage young people to continue to attend school to study and seek support from teachers during Study leave. This also helps pupils maintain a good routine. School transport and catering run as usual during this time.
Pupils return to school on Monday 3rd June. New S6 (current S5 who are returning for S6) should attend an S6 Induction Day on Friday 31 May. I will email them more details of this nearer the time.
Pupils must wear full school uniform when attending school during study leave.
National 2, 3 & 4 courses, Freestanding Units and Qualifications without exams
If your child is working towards these qualifications and they have not completed all units and coursework by Friday 19/4/24, they must attend school during study leave to complete these. Please encourage your child to speak to their class teacher to arrange this, otherwise the school will make contact with families to arrange for pupils to attend during study leave.
Revision Support during Exams
As stated, school staff are available during Study Leave for support. Pupils are also able to use school spaces to study, subject to availability.
The school are offering a programme of revision classes. These take place in the days before exams to provide some intensive revision and answer any last minute questions. We strongly recommend your child attends the revision class for all their exam subjects.

Leaving School
If you are leaving school, you must complete a Leavers Form after your last exam or when you have completed all your SQA coursework. These are available from the school office.

SQA Results Day
Pupils receive their results on Tuesday 6th August 2024. Please ensure we have your current address as this is where your certificate will be sent.
We recommend that pupils sign up with My SQA to receive their results by text and email. Please encourage them to do so using the link below.
