We are beginning an exciting project with Archaeology Scotland across the whole school. We are learning the importance of understanding the past. We had fun investigating different household items and trying to work out all the information about those people. We also looked into what is left behind in the soil for us to find.

Here is the arrow head from the Bronze age which was around 4000 years old!

What a glorious day it was on Friday. We had football, rugby and basket ball going on. We also had groups of children being creative with the resources to come up with new games or improved versions of games we have been playing in warm up sessions.
Last week we were learning about prime numbers. A prime number has only 2 factors – 1 and itself. We used our multiplication square to explore factors and write as many prime numbers as we could.

We used empty number lines to practice multiplication and division.

We are learning the language of multiplying and dividing as this helps us when solving word problems. In this session, we were working out the missing duvidend, divisor and quotient.

We have been learning about keeping safe online and completed some work on what text messages should look like – being kind and positive.

Also in mental health wellbeing week P5/6 joined our class for a couple of yoga sessions.

We are learning how to calculate perimeter and area in measurement. We worked in small groups taking on different rooms indoors as the weather was not great on Friday. Each group reported back their findings and some were able to compare work done in the same space.

We have revised the colours in french and have been writing simple sentences to state favourite colours.
J’aime le rouge et le violet = I like red and purple.
In P6/7 the children have been working on the language of multiplication and division. Here they were working together to find the duvidend or the duvisor which would match the given quotients. Test them on their understanding of these words!
