Apologies for terrible photography and the sheer amount of snap shots. This is only a fraction of what was taken on Tuesday’s session!

Finally we have our display boards up in our newly decorated hall. We have been looking forward to displaying our pumpkin patch art work using line, pattern, light/shade, colour and tone. This is our interpretation of the pumpkin patch after the harvest.
We are moving on into applying our times tables knowledge into vertical calculations. Below our pairs of learning buddies challenged their peers with different calculations.

P6 children took the opportunity to choose a group challenge activity. We had 2 teams of 5 going head to head to accurately complete given calculations the quickest.

P6/7 were leaders of their own learning on Thursday afternoon when they organised a variety of activities outdoors to support the skills learned in throwing & catching, ball skills in football, rugby and basketball, team work and game strategies. It was a lovely sunny afternoon, albeit a little chilly but with so many fun activities on the go the children didnt even notice!!

We have been linking our knowledge of multiplying fact families to write division facts too. We have also been trying to speed up our times tables facts.

We are beginning term 2 with a recap on previous learning. We are exploring times tables to discover any gaps in learning. Group 1 have been exploring inverse calculations. If we know 9 x 6 = 54 then what other knowledge do we have linking multiplication and division.

Group 2 have been working on increasing their recall speed on all times tables facts up to 12 times table.
Both groups have been working collaboratively to create a times table loop game. This is great fun and they will be able to share their game with different peers. This activity took great team work and numeracy knowledge with an additional challenge of common factors!

Happy new year to you all.
We have started the way we mean to go on with our first gymnastics lesson today, where we explored strength, control, balance and travelling in our floor work activities. Apologies for the action photos!
