Weekly Update

This week we had our final rugby session with Cumnock Rugby Club and we were learning how to play mini games of rugby. We were learning the days of the week in French and we completed a STEM challenge.

In literacy we were learning a new sound and we wrote non chronological reports in writing. We loved having some friends and family visit our class for our literacy open morning. We even had some Countdown Conundrums to try and work out, some of which were very tricky.

In maths we were learning about the grid method for multiplication, partial products and practising our times tables.

Our school football team  have their first game this afternoon and we wish them luck.

Weekly Update

P6/7 have had a busy few weeks. Last week we took part in some Halloween activities with P5/6. We had our committee groups last Wednesday.

This week in maths we have been learning to do the formal method for multiplication. In literacy we were writing a summary about the book we have been reading. We wrote Cinquain poems and learned about different spelling rules.

We created some beautiful landscape artwork with Mrs Campbell on Thursday afternoon.

We were playing mini games of rugby. The main focus was spatial awareness and effective passing, taking into consideration the 5 passes. We  had opportunities to play against all the teams and good team work and sportsmanship was promoted throughout. We also started practising for the Sports Hall Athletics in PE.

We have loved getting the opportunity to play different games in class and Layla has been teaching everyone how to play UNO. It’s quickly become a class favourite.
