Weekly Round-up

Term 2 has been off to a busy start, we started reading Part 2 of our class novel and it has led to some great interesting discussions. We have also been learning about different homophones as part of our spelling work.

In numeracy we have been learning about multiples and being able to identify common multiples. We have also been learning to use the grid method to answer multiplication calculations.

In RME we started looking at different world religions and festivals that are celebrated by others, such as Diwali.

We had our first ever swimming lesson on Tuesday afternoon and had a great time at Visions. We can’t wait to go back again on Tuesday. Remember – We need to come with our swimwear already on, a bus pass, towel and underwear to put on once we come out of the pool.

Term 1 Complete ✅

This week we were learning to run in and skip in the big rope and then run back out. We  also focused on our passing during basketball and got the chance to play some mini games.

This week we were learning about the suffix – ful and finished part 1 of our Holes novel. We have been learning to use descriptive and figurative language in our writing and wrote our own descriptions of a storm scene.

We also got the chance to make our very own play-dough, it was great fun and we loved getting to play with it after.

Remember: Swimming starts on our first day back – Tuesday 21st October. Please remember your bus pass and come prepared with everything you need.

We have also been exploring the different emotions that we might feel and discussing situations when we might experience these.

We also created our own lava lamps in science. We discovered that the salt pulled the oil down to the bottom & once the salt dissolved then the oil went back to the top.
