Yes Day!

Due to the persuasive letters the class wrote to convince me for a yes day AND meeting their 1500 class total Dojo target, we are having a yes day tomorrow in P3/4.

If the pupils would like to wear any oodies etc tomorrow, they can.

Farm Park Fun

What a fantastic day we had at Ayr Farm Park.  From bouncing on the air pillows and flying down the zip line to feeding the animals and a  giant game of tig in the castle- a great time was had by all!
We also enjoyed some time in the play barn and had a picnic lunch. There were a few sleepy heads on the return bus journey.

Check out the new meerkat friends we found along the way 😜

Wk ending 14th June

This week has been Health Week at Catrine Primary and we have had loads of fun activities happening all week.

On Tuesday, we got to do Laser Tag in the gym hall and have a Silent Disco with headphones. We had a great time dancing and singing along to the songs we chose.

On Wednesday, coaches from Kilmarnock Football Club brought in activities for us to do. They brought a big Velcro dart board and Velcro footballs for us to kick at the dart board. They also brought the icon machine. We had to stand in the middle and kick a ball at all of the panels and it would time us. It was so much fun.

On Thursday, the very talented P6s set up circuits for us in the gym hall. We got to use lots of our skills we have learned in PE and they did a great job at running the circuits and helping us.

Wk ending 17th May

This week we started our football sessions which are being led by Kilmarnock Football coaches.  We had great fun learning how to control the ball and pass to our partners.

We have been continuing to learn about sentence structure using Colourful Semantics.  As part of Digital Learning Week, we used the laptops to type our sentences in Word.

This week we also wrote a persuasive piece of writing to convince me to let them sit next to their friend in the afternoon. We used the laptops to type our work. Their writing was fantastic and they included really good reasons so they enjoyed sitting with their friends after lunch.

We have been learning how to play the Glockenspiels along to the song Zootime

Big Talk

Just a little reminder that all talks should be ready to present next week (w/b 20th May). Some children have already shared the exciting places they have chosen to speak about. I can’t wait to hear them all next week. Please remember to practise as much as possible at home. Any PowerPoints or other information required can be emailed to me at fiona.mccaig2@eastayrshire.org.uk

Thanks

Wk ending 3rd May

This week we started learning about grid references and coordinates. We had fun finding the ball in a football coordinate game and then found animals in the zoo.

We also had fun practising our typing skills on Dancemat Typing.

We continued learning about the rules of making a persuasive poster this week.  We decided to make a poster about keeping Catrine tidy.  We hope you like them…
