Welcome Back

Happy New Year and welcome back to Primary 1/2!

Lots of cold and happy faces arrived back at school yesterday to start Term 3 in P1/2. We started the day by sharing our news and had a go at writing it too. P1 did a fantastic job of using some of their initial sounds to have a go at writing independently. Primary 2 impressed Mrs Meek with their knowledge of a super sentence (Capital letter, finger spaces and a full stop). They were giving extra detail by using the connective ‘and.’

We revised the days of the week and months of the year before learning more about the seasons. Mrs Cunningham taught us about healthy habits and took us to P.E for gymnastics.

Miss Smith returned to class today and planned some revision of number activities. Primary 1 are recapping their number bonds to 5 before moving onto addition within 10. Primary 2 were busy sequencing numbers to 100 before comparing using the language before/after/between.

This term we will be preparing for our Burns celebration so watch this space for an update on our chosen poems and songs to learn at home.

We look forward to another busy term ahead.

Mrs Meek 🙂
