Dear Primary 1 parents,
We have been learning the letters s and a this week.
In addition to reading with your child daily, here are some fun letter activities to do with your child at home if you want.
- Put some dry rice, sand, shaving foam or similar on a baking tray and encourage your child to write the letters s and a with their finger.
- Make the letters s and a with playdough. You can make playdough yourself – here is a simple playdough recipeĀ .
- Alligator starts with a. Roll dice and snap like an alligator that many times.
- Go for a walk and see if you can spot the letters s and a on signs and posters.
- Look at the pictures below. Practise saying the word and listening to the first sound. Encourage your child to identify the pictures that start with an a and those that start with a s.
Happy learning!
