Class Update for week of 16th March

We have had such a busy week! Luckily, the weather has been nice which meant we enjoyed our 3 day visit from Archaeology Scotland even more!

We played “I Spy” to find differences and similarities between our school and the old school. We found out that the old school has a bell tower that our school doesn’t have and that the old school is made from stone, while our school is build with bricks. The next day, we went into our school pitch and did some archaeological digs in some of our many mole hills. We found lots of “treasures”, some of which were shards from a 200 year old plate! On Friday, we did some time travelling and found out that 200 years is not that old after all! We made a timeline in the playground and travelled along it.

We have started to put together a lap book of our time travel adventures. Here is what we have created so far:

In between our archaeological work, we also continued working hard on our literacy and numeracy skills. We practised subtraction, our new sounds and graphemes, and wrote super news stories on Monday morning.

We really have been busy and doing a super job! I hope that everyone will have a wonderful weekend and will be able to enjoy the lovely sunshine.
