• The ear is divided into three parts: outer, middle and inner ear.
• Deafness occurs when one part is not working effectively.

Levels of Deafness

• Deafness can range from a mild hearing loss to a profound hearing loss.
• Children may have a unilateral hearing loss (one ear affected) or a bilateral hearing loss (both ears affected).
