I hope you are well. Unfortunately wee Rory was unwell yesterday. He was sick and was feeling really sorry for himself.
However my daughters texted me to tell me he is fine today. No doubt he’ll be up to mischief again!
Anyway, lets get down to business –
This week we’re going to make/design a poster about how being active keeps us healthy as explained in our Being Active Is A Healthy Way To Be ppt from last week’s assignment.
first of all look through the powerpoint looking for something you think is important for others to see in a poster, for example, Exercise Makes You Happy or Stay Active. Your parents can help you with this. You might even be able to come up with an idea of your own.
Think of what you are going to draw
do want to add another message to your poster
make your poster bright and eye-catching with a clear title and image. Don’t make it too busy or wordy – any writing or information should be short and snappy.
please use A4 paper
once you have posted an image of your poster please keep it in a safe place and on return to school we’ll display some of them in the gym hall
You have all made it to Friday again. Home learning is a challenge but you are all working really hard – Well done everyone including all the adults at home who are helping you.
I hope you have all had a lovely week. Please make sure if you have been listening to Mr Hay’s daily Scottish songs and you wish to send him you singing one of them to do so today. Would be lovely to hear some of your singing since we can’t do this together in school.
I look forward to seeing everyone’s activities from this week. I plan to head out a walk later if that heavy rain stays away.
Is anyone else going a walk, cycle, a trip to the park or anything else exciting today?
Head over to the main school blog to see Mr Hay singing some Scottish songs each day which you can join in with and send in a video of you singing along to be added to a show case at the end of the week.
Keep working hard on your learning activities. I am here today to help if you need it. I will be in school tomorrow and Thursday and will respond when I am able to.
It’s Mr Smith here with a ‘task setting’ activity to help us stay fit and healthy. This week I’d like you to discuss a powerpoint which tells us about the benefits of an active lifestyle.
I’d also like you to set a task for yourself in which you choose 3 exercises and record how many repetitions you can do in 1 minute for each one. Repeat this 5 times a week trying to beat your score each time. What is your personal best?
Make a note of what happens to your body after each session – is your heart beating faster? Are you out of puff and sweating? How do your muscles feel? Why do you think you feel like this? I have provided a worksheet for you to fill in with your scores and observations.
I’ve also included a second powerpoint which gives you some ideas of possible exercises and instructions on how to do them. You may want to some of these (don’t do the planks though as they are not repetitive).
Go on girls and boys, get busy and get your parents up on the floor to have a go.
