Outdoor Learning

P2/3 will be having an outdoor learning afternoon every Wednesday afternoon. We are hoping to complete 12 outdoor challenges to receive the RSPB Gold Wild Schools Award.

If children could bring or wear weather appropriate clothing commencing this Wednesday please. The children will potentially be getting muddy so please dress them in clothing and footwear that you do not mind them getting a bit dirty.

Homework W/B 30.8.21

The children will receive an active spelling grid home on Monday with activities that they can complete to practise their phoneme and common words. They will also receive a list of their words and a numeracy worksheet. In addition to this they will be allocated a new book on Bug Club. Please let me know if you are having issues signing on to Bug Club.

Rubies – Sea Snaps

Sapphires – Shadows in the Sun

Diamonds – Animal Babies

I would like homework returned by Friday. However, if handing it in the following Monday works better then that would also be fine too. (I know lots of the children are busy with clubs throughout the week)

All About Me Bags

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone for the great response to the children’s All About Me Bags.

I loved getting to know more about all of the children and couldn’t believe how confident everyone was with talking in front of their new class.  They should all be feeling very proud of themselves!

Gym Days

Our gym days will be a Tuesday with myself and a Thursday with Mr Smith. Gym will be outside for as long as weather permits and later on in the year it will resume within the Gym Hall. If children can bring a change of shoes for gym outdoors then that would be great.

Apologies for the late notice but everyone will still be able to participate outside tomorrow.

Class News

Hi everyone! We now have our class blog set up where I will post any class information and homework. Primary 2’s will receive their yellow diary home on Monday. If you have any concerns or questions then pop a message in it and I will get back to you.
Primary 3’s will be using Teams for communication, however, this will not be starting until the children are confident in accessing it in school so if you have anything you want to share with me then you can send me an email. My email address is: danielle.kinnaird@eastayrshire.org.uk.
I hope all of the children have enjoyed their first couple of days back at school. I am delighted with how well they have been settling in and new friendships are being made.
Have a lovely weekend.
