Homework W.C 22nd November

Sorry for the delay in getting this weeks homework up. Somehow I hadn’t posted it correctly.

For spelling this week we are focusing on the ‘aw’ phoneme. Below is this weeks word lists. If you have a whiteboard and magnetic letters at home you could hide the words from the children and encourage them to say the word, make the word, break the word, read the word and then write the word (five finger strategy).

For reading children have all been allocated a new book.

Sapphires – Jay and Sniffer: The Bike Race

Diamonds – This Dinosaur

For numeracy children could practise their number bonds on Topmarks:

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/mental-maths-train

We have began to look at empty number lines and partitioning numbers to make calculations more manageable so children could try and demonstrate their understanding of this.

For numeracy we are continuing to focus on money.  Below are some suggestions of games that children could play to reinforce this at home.
