Hello everyone,
I hope we’ve all had a lovely weekend.
In literacy we are focusing on the split phoneme e-e. Please find this weeks word list below.
I have allocated everyone a new book.
Fantastic Foxes – Fun Festivals
Wonderful Wonkas – The Old Things
Clever Crocodiles – Martial Arts
In numeracy we are going to continue looking at Mass. Have a go at this game: https://www.ictgames.com/mobilePage/mostlyPostie/index.html
Do you have scales at home that you could weigh different things?
Hello everyone, what a miserable Monday!
For homework this week we are focusing on our final split phoneme u-e. You can have a go at this game to practise the u-e words: https://games.galacticphonics.com/longvowels/u-e/interactive/uespell/uespellt.htm
For reading I have allocated everyone a new book. Some people will have moved groups after our assessments today and last week but below are the books for the new groups.
Fantastic Foxes – Colourful Creatures
Wonderful Wonkas – Your Bones
Clever Crocodiles – The Missing Masks
For numeracy we are focusing on volume and capacity and multiplication and division. At home you could look at the size of different containers for liquid and try measuring different amounts. Please have a go at one or both of the games below.

We didn’t manage to get outside for gym today because we were so busy working hard on our topic. We will be going outside tomorrow afternoon (weather dependent). If children can bring a change of shoes for gym, we won’t be doing a full change.
As it is a shorter week I am not allocating much in terms of homework.
For literacy we are going to continue to look at our a-e phoneme this week. Please continue to go over these words.
I have allocated a new reading book for enjoyment. We will not be completing any tasks linked to this book in class.
For numeracy we are beginning to look at measure. This is a really fun practical concept with lots of opportunities for discussion. Could you measure different volumes of liquids at home? Have a go at measuring yourself and family members?
For homework this week we are focusing on the a-e phoneme as in ‘cake’. Please see your word list below. You can practise your words using this online game: https://games.galacticphonics.com/longvowels/a-e/interactive/aespell/aespellt.htm or in any other way that you like.
For reading please see this weeks books below:
The Fantastic Foxes – Exploring London
The Wonderful Wonkas – Exploring Rock Pools
The Clever Crocodiles – The Mermaids Visit the Vet
If you have questions that need a written answer please answer in full sentences.
For numeracy we are continuing to look at data handling this week you can have a go at some of these games on Topmarks :https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/5-7-years/data-handling
Or you can continue your times tables practise. You could try this website to help you: https://www.timestables.co.uk/
Hello everyone! It was so lovely to see all of the children who were back today and hear all about their lovely Easter holidays! They all seem happy to be back and ready for our final busy term of P2.
I am not allocating any new homework this week as it is the shorter week. If children can revise the phonemes they have already learned and revisit their reading book from the week before the holidays.
They can also practise their times tables facts for numeracy.
Just a reminder as some of the children have been asking.
Gym days are a Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday being an outdoor slot or if the weather isn’t great we will do some yoga indoors. Thursday is in the hall with Mr Smith.
Outdoor Learning is now a Thursday afternoon.
For literacy we are not starting a new sound this week but instead doing some Easter spelling and literacy activities. Below is an optional word list.
The children could have a go at creating an Easter picture and hide the words within them. Or they could make some Spring flowers and fill them with the words.
For reading the children have all been allocated a new book.
The Fantastic Foxes – Flips and Spins
The Wonderful Wonkas – Horribilly: Slow and Sticky
The Clever Crocodiles – Football
For numeracy if the children can continue to practise their table facts.
Can we all please have a look in school bags for a missing book from the book fair. One of the children have lost the book, “Magic Molly: The Witch’s Kitten”.
