Message from the Parent Council

The Parent Council would like to thank everyone that came along to support our Indoor Car Boot Sale yesterday. It was a great fundraiser, especially the Chocolate Tombola. Thanks again to everyone that donated towards it.

We would like to give a huge thank you to J. McCaig of Shire Energy Services for donating the Tuck Shop products.

All fundraisers are to help enhance the children’s learning experience at school and provide them with new opportunities.

Thank you to all the parent helpers that helped make this event possible.

Primary 2/3 Update

This week we celebrated Book Week Scotland in Primary 2/3. We all brought in our favourite books and talked about them in front of the class. It was so interesting to learn all about our favourite books and everyone did a fantastic job!

In our literacy lessons we found out all about fiction and non-fiction books and did a non-fiction book hunt. We also created a big reading display for our new comfy reading corner. One of our favourite activities was Drop everything and Read and we had a great treat when P6/7 pupils read to us and P1/2 in the hall.

We finished off the week with some great Pudsey activities on Friday.

Primary 4 – Update

This week primary 4 have been investigating weather and learning about how rain is formed. We made cloud jars and studied how the water droplets made the clouds too heavy which produced raindrops.

We have also been learning about Remembrance day; we made Playdoh poppies at our funky fingers station and in art created Pointillism poppies.

In Numeracy we have been learning about doubles and near doubles.
