Planning maths activities linked to the theme of a storybook has many benefits for teachers and learners at Early and First Level. The Maths Through Stories website contains a wide range resources and lesson ideas.
Planning frames have been created by SAC Numeracy teachers and teachers involved in the East Ayrshire ‘Raising Attainment in Numeracy’ training inputs to develop maths through the theme of a story book. These frames allows teachers to contextualise maths through activities linked to the storybook and ‘bundle’ E’s and O’s while planning numeracy and maths learning.
