This week P7S have been introduced to their new IDL topic – World War 2. They learned about how and when the world began, and they made newspaper articles to demonstrate their learning.

P7 pupils went on their first transition visit to Stewarton Academy yesterday. They visited science and technical classes and had a great time making balloon rockets and phone holders!
P7 pupils had their first transition visit from Stewarton Academy this week. They learned about the maths department, and worked with teachers and S6 pupils to complete a maths challenge.
The visit left the learners feeling excited which was amazing to see!
As promised, here is the long-awaited photo from our Greek Gods and Goddesses Trashion Show! Thank you for your donations of recycled materials. The learners in P7S had lots of fun with this activity and presented their new knowledge confidently in their costumes.

P7S celebrated Maths Week Scotland with the rest of the school this week. They led outdoor activities for the younger children as well as taking part in their own Maths Week activities. They explored this year’s theme, Maths Matters, through writing, and they had a visit from Joe Gallagher (Creative Minds) who linked our IDL topic of Greece with maths through a creative lens.

P7S have been learning about Greek architecture. They explored an ancient Greek museum on Minecraft Education, then they built their own buildings inspired by Greek architecture.
P7S have been working on developing the meta-skills of focusing, communicating, collaborating and feeling this term. As part of this, they have been working on regular problem-solving tasks and thinking questions.
