This week Primary 1/2 took their numeracy outside as part of Maths Week Scotland.
We are exploring and developing our knowledge of 2D and 3D shape.
The children were finding out which 2D shapes roll, stack and how they can be used to build things.
We had some shape detectives looking for and recording which 2D and 3D shapes they could see in our school environment and we later discuss why they had been used for these things.
We transferred our skills using rulers to draw 2D shapes with straight edges.
The children also developed their free drawing motor control drawing 2D shapes with both curved and straight edges.
They mixed their creative and numeracy skills using 2D shapes to create pictures with partners.
Pictures to follow after photo consent has been checked.
