Throughout terms 1 and 2 we have been learning about the infamous Titanic. Take a look at some of our fantastic work from 3D cabins to newspaper reports, to fact files, to group research posters to character profiles. P5/6 have worked extremely hard throughout this topic and have gained lots of new skills and knowledge along the way.
To celebrate St Andrew’s Day we read “Neeps and Tatties”, a story about overcoming our differences and learning to get along with one another. Fantastic Scots’ language is used throughout the story and as we listened we took notes of our favourite words and created some fantastic graffiti art to decorate our door.
Primary 5/6 have been learning about the key features of a newspaper article. They took on the role of reporter for the Bellsbank Banner in April 1912 and wrote their own articles about the sinking of Titanic. If you are walking by our classroom feel free to read some amazing reporting!
Well done to Colton, who finished our class Christmas jigsaw. This jigsaw had 500 pieces and with a lot of patience and concentration, Colton completed it! What a superstar!
As Friday marked the beginning of December it was only right that we decorated our wee tree. 🥰🎄
Throughout term 1 our P.E focus has been gymnastics. Primary 5/6 have been combining the skills they have learned throughout this term to create, perfect and perform a group routine to the class.
They all stepped up to the challenge and what amazing performances we had! 🧡
Primary 5/6 were so excited to begin their strings lessons again with Mrs Martin back in term 1. How professional do each of our sections look?!
Back in term 1 Primary 5/6 resurrected the Titanic from her watery grave and restored her to her formal glory. Working hard in their groups, each group was responsible for creating a specific part of the ship and ocean. P5/6 had to listen, share and delegate tasks to one another to ensure their work was of a high quality and I think we can all agree that they have done a fantastic job putting the infamous ship together again. They have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and learned lots of new information and gained new skills.
