Our Well being Champions training this week was about Mindfulness and Mindset. We enjoyed the activities and the task was to create a poster. Here are a few.

Hi folks a wee request. We are going to be using pine cones for our Xmas Fayre Craft and would like you to gather some if you are out and about. They need to be a decent size – about the length of your child’s palm or longer. If we could have some in ready to start making at the beginning of November that would be great. Thanks.
Week 2 of our Well being Champions training was all about Mental Health. Here are a few pics of what we got up to.
NO PENS WEDNESDAY
Primary 6 had lots of fun today, No Pens Wednesday. We watched a PowerPoint about dyslexia and spoke about the difficulties that this brings especially to learning and organisation. We spoke about the strategies and aides we have in class to help and what we could do to help anyone with dyslexia.
We played some literacy games involving mime and spoken clues…Keira’s mime was especially good! We played some times tables games to practise times tables facts and used playing cards to compete in place value games and finished with a higher or lower game. We forgot to take a lot of pictures as we were cheering on the teams so much.
We had a massage session as well to wind down and relax.
This week we have been learning about Japanese Culture and Writing. We learned about Samuri Warriors, Mrs Scarisbrick brought in a wooden Katana for us to see. Taymiyah got dressed in a Kimono and we looked at a hand painted wooden and paper fan.
We wrote our names and other words in Japanese.
Here are some photographs of our classroom. As you can see our displays are already coming along nicely. We have been reading Michael Morpungo’s book called Kensuke’s Kingdom and our literacy work has been focussing on it. To tie in with the book we are doing an IDL study on Japan.
Today we went outside to collect a variety of Autumn leaves in the garden and used them to create sponge prints, using the leaves as a block stencil.
