Choose an activity from the spelling challenge cards below. Aim for around 2 words from each column of the phoneme chart. Then write a sentence using each of your chosen words.
**If focussing on all 5 phoneme representations is too challenging, only focus on i_e and igh.**

*5 Interesting Facts about…*
Our class novel is The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. We learned that owls are nocturnal so your job is to choose another nocturnal animal and find out some interesting facts about it. You may use books or the internet.
Here are some ideas to help with the task:
- What do you call a baby ____?
- What do you call a group of ____?
- What do they eat?
- Where in the world can they be found?
- Do they have any predators?
- What age do they typically live to in the wild?
- Do they have any special features that help them survive and hunt?
Please return completed sheets by Thursday morning.

Choose 2-3 words from the list to ‘grow’ by adding a prefix (to the start of a word) or a suffix (to the end of the word).
e.g. disagree, fearful.
Write a sentence containing each NEW word.
Continue to work through your individual targets on Nessy.
