The children continued to explore families, creating their own family story/picture books. The children have began to show an interest in vehicles, building their own vehicles in the construction area. We have added sand in the indoor environment, the children have seemed to enjoy exploring this sensory experience, mainly focusing on sharing and turn taking.






We also revisited ‘Pantosaurus’ to recap children’s right to privacy linking with UNCRC and our ECC charter.

O u t d o o r s –
The children have been exploring Scottish music outdoors, using musical instruments to support their play, discussions around Robert Burns and the history behind this.
Well done to everyone who participated in the Big Bird Watch and completed the home link challenge. The children have been using their own homemade binoculars outdoors to look for birds. Discussions around the different species of birds and using/recalling bird names. The children made more bird feeders to take home.
We also created a new shelter outdoors and the children enjoyed exploring a variety of different stories in their ‘cosy wee shelter’.

Some children participated in ‘Woodland Wednesday’ this week, participating in risk taking play, building upon gross motor skills and using our senses/imagination to explore. Some children were looking for ‘Big Foot’ in the woods.
