The Water Cycle
These activities help deliver the Sciences Experiences and Outcome at Second Level on the Processes of the Planet –
I can apply my knowledge of how water changes state to help me understand the processes involved in the water cycle in nature over time. SCN 2-05a
We see water on the surface of Earth in rivers, lakes, seas and oceans. Water is also held in the atmosphere around us – sometimes as an invisible gas called water vapour and sometimes in the clouds above us.
Water is some form is constantly moving between the surface of the Earth and the atmosphere as it changes from a liquid to a gas (evaporates) and back into liquid form (condenses). This movement of water is called the water cycle.
Watch the video below for ideas on how to make your own model of the water cycle.
The UK Met Office has excellent resources to help our understanding of weather and climate. The following link will tell you more about the water cycle.
