The Lorax is another great story from Dr Seuss. A simple picture book with a very important message. Watch a reading of the story You Tube – The Lorax
Don’t be fooled into thinking this book and the linked activities are suitable only for younger learners. The book and it’s message are enjoyed from P1 to P7.
The Lorax’s story is a warning that we need to protect the living things in our environment – what lives and grows on land, what lives and grows below water.
One of the best ways to help nature is to increase ‘biodiversity’. A place has biodiversity when it has a variety of plants, creatures and habitats. The more varied the plants and habitats, the more life a space can support can support. If there is only grass only creatures that like a grassy habitat will be able to use that space.
You can make change and have a positive impact by helping to increase biodiversity.
Plant a Tree
Trees are very important habitat for many creatures – they provide food and shelter for birds, invertebrates and mammals. Help your outdoor space and the living things that use it by planting a tree or growing a tree from seed.
