This is a Second Level Space activity that uses simple materials to show how the sun moves through the sky. We have produced 2 videos

The first shows how to make a simple sundial to investigate how shadows move.

The second looks at the results from the investigation and explains the science behind them.

When the sundial has been made it can be used anywhere to tell the time as long as you line up the sundial in the same direction as when it was made.
