We should by now have all heard of COP 26 but what is it?
COP stands for ‘Conference of the Parties’, and will be attended by countries that signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – a treaty agreed in 1994.
Globally we face a double threat to the global environment – climate and biodiversity. It is a major global, political event and it is happening in Glasgow. Decisions taken at the COP 26 will impact on all of our lives and will impact most on the future of the young people we all work with.
The 2021 meeting will be the 26th meeting and it will be held from 1st November until 12th November.
