The Fit Fifteen resource was created to support and enhance children’s physical activity, during curricular time, as part of the school day. It is supported by government guidance relating to the amount of time young children should spend being physically active in a day and also by Scottish and international policy. The document shows how the CfE health and wellbeing experiences and outcomes can complement GIRFEC and the UNCRC.
In the Curriculum for Excellence, Health and Wellbeing is the responsibility of all and Fit Fifteen gives some ideas for outdoor learning opportunities to develop skills and learning across the curricular areas. It also provides ideas and meaningful links to wider achievement awards, such as the John Muir Award.
