Snail Racing

Are you missing sports – both doing and watching?  Lorna is!  In this video, she has encouraged three snails to race and has timed them to see how long it takes them to travel 10cm.  It might not be as fast paced as the sport you are used to watching…but it certainly nail biting!  Which snail do you think will win? Can you work out their strategy?  This activity links nicely into exploration of numeracy and maths concepts such as estimation, measure and speed, distance and time.
