Plants for Free – Collecting Seeds

Many plants reproduce or propagate themselves from seed. You might have noticed that when plants reach the end of their growing season you can see seed heads instead of flowers or fruit.

If you collect and store the seeds, you can grow plants for free the following season.  Our film shows you how.

Seed collecting is fascinating – seeds come in all shapes and sizes – and finding out how plants spread or disperse seeds in nature help us see some of the  different factors (weather, soil conditions, animal activity, human activity) that work together to help plants grow or fail.
