Spiders are master designers, creators and builders and their webs are amazing examples of clever, intricate engineering used to help spiders survive and catch their prey. Quite often, we simply brush spider’s webs away without thinking about the design work completed by these fascinating little creatures. In this video and accompanying lesson, Vince compares spider’s webs to the bridges that we see all around us and sets an engineering challenge to build a bridge out of different materials you can find in your home. What distance can you make it and can you test how much weight it can hold?
