We all remember playing the game of battleships when we were younger, but this is a brilliant activity to scale up and take outdoors to practice coordinates and put learning into context.
This lesson was created as part of a Social Studies topic on World War 2, however you can of course just use the grid to learn about coordinates. The game can be played individually or with a family member and allows children to physically move around to explore the concept.
For more information on how to set up this activity, or link it to a topic on World War 2, visit the lesson page or watch the video, where Natalie shows you how to set up your grid: https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/ea/learningoutdoorssupportteam/bismarck-battleships/
