To kick start the new House Point scheme, all pupils (P1-7) participated in the first of our Intra-House Competitions. It was great fun and ended in a 3-way tie:
Yellow House – won 9 wars (25 tokens)
Blue, Green & Red House – won 11 wars (50 tokens)
I don’t know who was more competitive – the pupils or the teachers lol! Thanks for everyone’s support on the day.
We would like to introduce our new Sports Committee who will be the pupil voice for Physical Education, Physical Activity and School Sport as part of HWB improvement within JHPS.
We are pleased to announce we have achieved our Bronze Status for the Sportscotland School Sport Award.
The Sportscotland School Sport Award is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision making, planning and implementation of extra-curricular school sport. It also encourages schools to self-reflect and continuously improve and recognise and celebrate successful school sport models. The award also encourages sporting links between schools and the communities around them, providing opportunities for young people to progress.
We would like to congratulate our Athletics Team on an amazing performance at the Sportshall Athletics Final where they finished third! It was one of the closet finals I have ever seen with just the final relay race of the day separating the top 3 schools. Our pupils gave their all and we are extremely proud of their achievement. A great day for all involved #goteamjimmy
Pupils from both Primary 7’s received coaching from the Academy Sports Leaders for their Possession Games block. It was a great learning experience for all involved.
The P6/7 Athletics Team were in action last week at the Sportshall Athletics Heats. They put in a sterling performance and have managed to qualify for the finals! The pupils demonstrated a fantastic team spirit and displayed sportsmanship throughout the event – the atmosphere on the day was nothing short of electric! We are all extremely proud of their achievement! #goteamjimmy
The Primary 6 and 7 boys and girls Cross Country Teams were in action yesterday in our first competitive competition in almost 2 years! The pupils gave their all in a gruelling race against the elements! They performed fantastically and we are super proud of their achievements. We had one podium finish in the P7 girls race with Olivia White securing a well earned second place. Congratulations to her and all of our runners. #goteamjimmy
