Homework over the next 2 weeks is to create either a Viking Longhouse or Viking Longboat. Pupils learned about longboats and their features last week and they will be learning about longhouses this week. (Optional)
Pupils should bring in their creations by Friday 6th December.
There will be no formal homework over these 2 weeks to allow time for this challenge. Pupils are however encouraged to continue to practice their tables and read for enjoyment.
This will also be the final homework task before the Christmas holidays.
Read the story starter in the attachment below called ‘The Feathered Hunter’. Once you have read it, complete one of the follow up tasks. You can choose between:
Pupils finished work on addition and subtraction a few weeks ago. As these are important skills to maintain, pupils have been provided with some revision work on this. Pupils should complete the first worksheet in their numeracy jotter, showing all working.

Complete 30 minutes on Sumdog.
Spend 20 minutes reading with a parent/carer.
Pupils will receive their ‘Snapshot Jotter’ to bring home on Monday 7th October. Pupils have completed a variety of work in this over the past week to provide parents/carers with an insight into the work we are completing in class.
Please take this opportunity to discuss your child’s work with them to find out what they have been learning about.
There is also a ‘2 stars and a wish’ sheet on the inside cover that should be used to give your child some feedback on their work. 2 stars ( positive comments about their work/things you like) and a wish (an area you feel they could work on).
Jotters should be returned at parents night on Thursday 10th October.
Thanks
Mrs Macdonald 🙂
