Literacy & Language

In Term 4 we will be learning about joined phonemes – wh, ph, ee, oo, ck, ai & oy. We will also have our new spelling words to learn each week. We use our spelling words and phoneme sounds to help us write independently whilst remembering to use our finger spaces, capital letters and full stops. We will also be reading more books from Oxford Reading Tree and learning our reading vocabulary.

Numeracy & Maths

This term we will start to learn about the concept of subtraction. We will learn about subtracting zero, subtracting 1, subtracting 2 and then we will start to explore subtraction number stories. We will also be learning about money – learning to recognise the coins and investigating how to pay for some items. We will then move on to learning about time – reading digital and analogue clocks showing o’clock times.

 

Health & Wellbeing

In our Health and Wellbeing sessions, we will be learning about where food comes from. We will also further explore neurodiversity and look at how we are all unique.

When we are at PE, we will be developing our skills in golf as well as fielding games such as cricket and rounders.

 

Social Subjects and Interdisciplinary Learning

Our topic for this term is ‘Toys’. We will be exploring and playing with old and new toys as well as talking about what makes a toy old or new. We will also explore toys and their forces, looking at pushing and pulling.
