Literacy & Language

In Term 1, we will be learning a selection of Nursery Rhymes to help us hear and identify rhyming words. We will also be learning to count and identify syllables in words. We will be starting to learn our phonemes as part of our Active Literacy.

Numeracy & Maths

This term, we will be exploring numbers to 10. We will learn what each number represents, how to write the numbers and how to sequence numbers. We will also create patterns and sequences with colours, objects and shapes.

Health & Wellbeing

As we will be settling in to our new school and our new class, we will be setting up our class charter. We will also be talking about our feelings and emotions, thinking about how we feel in different situations. We will also be exploring how to form positive relationships and be a good friend to others.

When we are at PE, we will be developing our athletics skills of running, jumping and throwing.

Interdisciplinary Learning

Our topic for our first term is ‘People Who Help Us’. We will be learning about the people in our community who help to look after us and the jobs that they have.
