Supporting Workforce Wellbeing
Education Scotland have launched a package of programmes dedicated to support your mental health and wellbeing and there are options for practitioners and leaders across the education workforce, including CLD and ELC. Authority Wellbeing Provision
Additional supports can also be found on the East Ayrshire Council’s Wellbeing site , Learning Academy (http://learning.east-ayrshire.gov.uk/) and via the Healthy Working Lives site (Council Intranet). E.g. Managers Guide Mental Wellbeing
The Authority is providing bespoke 1:1 sessions to support employees with a variety of tools such as CBT, hypnotherapy and EFT. A new ‘Finding Inner Calm’ 4 week programme is also available and joining instructions can be found at the Learning Academy. Videos have been uploaded onto the HWL YouTube channel and onto the self-care section of the Healthy Working Lives site which will also help you with any stress or anxiety you may be feeling.
We now have an additional Mental Health Support Service available which any employee can access. Able Futures can deliver one-to-one support sessions, provided by The Better Health Generation’s Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Counsellors. There’s no charge to use the service and Able Futures can provide support over a 9 month period to help you build self-care and wellbeing routines, tackle issues, feel better and learn new ways to manage your mental health throughout the ups and downs of life. You can access this support from Able Futures over the phone and through email or video calls at a time to suit you. If you feel you could benefit from some support with your mental health and wellbeing, call Able Futures on 0800 321 3137.
A host of wellbeing resources have also been developed such as wellbeing z-cards, a wellbeing support directory and Personal Wellbeing Plans. Email healthyworkinglives@east-ayrshire.gov.uk if you would like any of these resources printed.
There is also the practical tips leaflet and posters. 30 minute mindfulness sessions Friday’s at 2pm and a host of recorded meditations will be on the healthy working lives and also the new wellbeing website when up and running. There is also mindfulness taster sessions (approx. 1 hour) that can be accessed via Organisational Development.

GTC Scotland has created and curated a variety of resources and advice to support teacher and lecturer health and wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education Support Helpline – Anyone in education can call the free and confidential helpline run by Education Support: 08000 562561.
They have collated a range of articles, blogs, apps, websites and other resources to help you to check in with your mental health, tackle stress and relax.

Place2Be
Place2Think – Place2Be are also providing free small group supervision for teaching staff. Guided by Place2Be clinicians, groups of 6-8 peers meet monthly to share experiences of mental health in their school community. These sessions offer a chance to download in a safe environment, to learn about mental health and build networks.
