Wednesday 27th January – P1L and P1R – Maths

Good morning Primary 1,

It was lovely to speak to some of you (and see you) on Vscene yesterday. I know some children couldn’t get on and I am sure we will get this fixed and try again. We are going to start with the story ‘Rosie’s Walk’ today. I hope you enjoy it.

P2B – Tuesday 26th January

Hello Primary 2B 🙂

I hope you are all well and have been managing with the work yesterday. Remember it is very important to take breaks and get fresh air.

I am trying something new today as we are starting to do more interactive lessons. I have used Sway for our home learning tasks. It is very easy to use. Just follow the link and everything you need is on the page. It is similar to word document except videos are embedded a lot easier. I have videos where I am talking to each of the spelling groups (I have a stuffy nose so apologies in advance for my voice). This is new for me too and I am still trying to get the hang of sway and explore all it has to offer. However, if you have any questions or are struggling please let me know (jaclyn.baillie@eastayrshire.org.uk) and I will try to answer to the best of my ability. You do not need to download anything it will just open like a link. Just click the image below.

Go to this Sway

Please click below for the topic grid. Try to complete one activity today if possible.

Toys from the past topic grid of activities

Happy swaying 🤞  and have a wonderful day!

P5 Tuesday 26th January 2021

Good Morning Everyone,

Happy Tuesday.  How are you all today?  Well, what a day Monday was!!!  In my local area, there was no internet connection at all from just before 11am until around 8pm on Monday night.  It was quite a day and I am so sorry if I was not able to reply to any of your e-mails after 11am on Monday morning… not one of my neighbours had any Internet connection either.   An enormous Thank You to Miss Mair who is a member of our P5 Team and was able to answer your questions in Teams.  Fingers crossed that all will go well today and that there will not be any more interruptions.

How did you find Teams on Monday?  Were you able to find the activities without too many problems?

Let’s have another try again today, so… you will find all of the details relating to today’s activities on Teams… in Class Notebook > Content Library > P5 Resources > Tuesday 26th January 2021

P3 Tuesday 26th January

Hi P3

How are you all? Hope you all enjoyed a good weekend. Did anyone celebrate Burns Night yesterday? I had a celebration at the weekend ~ I was inspired by all the menus and pics that you sent me.

This week we are continuing to learn about money, using coins and notes and also how to write it down properly using the £ and p symbols.

There is a literacy task for you this week on Education City, which is about parts of a book. Make sure you watch the learn screen before you tackle the activity.

I love seeing what you’ve been up to – so if you can remember you can email me some of your work.

Hope you have a good day

P6W: Tuesday 26th January 2021

Hello again,

I hope you are all fine and well and ready for today’s tasks and activities.  It was great to see your STEM challenge creations yesterday – well done to Jamie, Khai and Jay-J for sending me photos of their model Victorian rooms.

Today’s work programme is on Teams in the Class Notebook > Content Library and you will find the resources in Files > Class Materials.  I have also assigned a Numeracy Quiz which I hope you’ll be able to access and complete. I have put the link below as well.

Tuesday 26th January 2021

A  wee heads up for Thursday.  I’m going to arrange a live session on Teams at 2.00pm.  It’ll be a topic quiz and we’ll use the conversation box to type our answers.  I hope you will be able to join me for that.  More details to follow.

Have a great day.

Tuesday 26th January 2021 P1L and P1R

Good morning Primary 1,

I think we got snow on the wrong day to make our Gruffalo trail but hope that you maybe got outside to enjoy the snow yesterday and made some footprint trails when you were out. Did you build a snowman or even a Gruffalo? It was such a lovely day to enjoy the snow in the lovely sunshine, which we don’t get very often.

Today we are continuing to examine the Gruffalo and the feelings his child had going out exploring on her own.

Here is the link for today’s work:

I am also looking forward to seeing you all properly for the first time since the Christmas holidays on VScene at 2pm. See you all then.

Have a great day,

Mrs Carey
