P4 Weekly Blog 2.11.20

Good morning everybody!
What a wet and windy start to the week. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and managed to have some fun on Halloween.

I have been very impressed with the hard working in P4 last week- we did a writing assessment and I really enjoyed reading all your spooky stories! The standard of work was fabulous.

For this weeks home learning tasks I’d like you to give the following a go:

  1. Practice your reading books! We will be focusing on reading strategies very shortly and will be looking to improve our skills when reading tricky words.
  2. You guys have been great at adding multiples of 10 to 2 or 3 digit numbers. Let’s look at adding multiples of 100! Use a dice or pack of cards to make a 3 digit number eg 243. Then practice adding or taking away 100 from that number! You can do this on a piece of paper at home. Could you make it into a game and see if you can get more points than an adult at home?
  3. At the end of November, we will be doing a class talk on an animal of your choice. On Tuesday, I will give you a letter to take home explaining what I’ll be looking for. When you get this home, you can begin to research your animal and write up your talk. Remember to practice it so you can make eye contact with your audience! The class talks will take place on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th November, so you will have 2 weeks to prepare. Good luck!

Have a great week P4!
