Friday 31st January

Wow! It’s February tomorrow!

Sorry there hasn’t been more posts in January – we have been really busy learning lots of new skills.

Literacy

This week we have been planning what to include in our writing which is called “A Day to Remember.” We will be writing this next week and each child has selected a day to write about. If possible could you send in a picture from this day if you have one before next Thursday.

Liam K: "I am writing about my 7th birthday. It was a very exciting day for me. I have loads to write."

This was our consolidation week for spelling so we have been revising all the sounds we have already learnt.

Michelle: "I liked doing the consolidation because we could practice any of the words we have been learning."

Numeracy

We are continuing to learn about division and we are getting really good at this.

Bobby: "It's really fun to divide. We get two numbers and we divide them to get the answer."

We started learning about directions as well. We have been doing lots of activities about North, South, East and West.

Lauren: We went round different stations. We did a textbook, used a laptop and played some games."

Health and Wellbeing

We are nearly finished learning all the skills for Badminton and Tennis in PE. We have been learning to serve and also return. It’s been really fun.

Sam: "We are learning to rally with our partners. That means to keep hitting it to each other without it dropping on the floor."

Other Curricular Areas

We have been continuing to learn our base song “Touch the Sky” for the Scottish assembly next week.

We are almost complete our PowerPoints on Robert Burns. We have been doing this on Glow. Why not ask your child to show you theirs, which is saved on their One Drive.

We have been making lots of Scottish things for the class such as kilts and thistles.

We are looking forward to Scottish Week next week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
